Since establishment in 1976 as a family-owned and operated business, O’Brien’s has grown significantly. Managed in the early years by Des O’Brien and his team before son Mark O’Brien acquired the practice in 1999. Mark recognised early the need to become a full service firm and with the addition of financial planning joined Count Financial Ltd in 2001. Chris Mullins joined Mark as a partner in 2002 and together they have grown the firm to what it is today.
In 2018, the firm partnered with ASX listed company CountPlus, Australia’s leading network of professional accounting and advice firms. And, in late 2020, acquired the Hillard O’Donnell practice bringing together greater resources and experience. Today the firm is a medium-sized, full-service accounting and financial planning firm located in Ivanhoe, in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Our team of dedicated staff work collaboratively to deliver our diverse range of clients with valuable outcomes.
